Biography

Narodil jsem se 13. března 1947 v Praze. Moje maminka Jindřiška Gabriela Preissová byla zpěvačkou, hlasatelkou a divadelnicí. Své dětství jsem prožil v Karlíně, na gymnázium jsem chodil v Říčanech a v roce 1969 jsem absolvoval DAMU, kde jsem se seznámil se svou budoucí ženou, herečkou Janou Drchalovou, se kterou mám syny Martina a Jana.
Do prvního divadelního angažmá mě pozval sám ředitel Městských divadel pražských Ota Ornest v roce 1969. Potkával jsem se na jevišti s mistry svého oboru Josefem Bekem, Marií Rosůlkovou, nebo Svatoplukem Benešem a zahrál jsem si řadu náročných rolí, např. Orfea, nebo Fausta. Zůstal jsem i po změně repertoáru po nuceném odchodu Oty Ornesta a zahrál jsem si zde v řadě muzikálů. V roce 1983 jsem scénu opustil, abych po několika týdnech přijal nabídku neméně úspěšného Divadla na Vinohradech, jehož členem jsem dodnes.
První televizní a filmové role přišly hned na začátku 70. let, mezi ty nejznámější určitě patří film Milenci v roce jedna (1973), seriál z lékařského prostředí Nemocnice na kraji města (1977), pohádka S čerty nejsou žerty (1984), nebo českotelevizní Četnické humoresky (1997). Můj hlas zní z několika písňových CD, slyšet mě můžete v dabingu (Robin Williams, Paul Eddington, Willy Fog) a také v rozhlase.

I was born on 13 March 1947 in Prague. My mom Jindriska Gabriela Preissová was a singer , announcer and theater artists . I spent my childhood in Karlin, I went to high school in Ríčany and in 1969 I graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts , where I met my future wife , actress Jane Drchalová with which I have sons, Martin and John.
In the first theatrical engagement invited me to the director himself Municipal Theatres Ota Ornest in 1969. I met on the stage with the masters of their field Josef Bek , Mary Rosůlková or Svatopluk Benes and I played a number of challenging roles , such as Orpheus, or Faust. I stayed even after changing the repertoire of the forced departure of Otto Ornest and I played here in a number of musicals . In 1983, I left the scene , after a few weeks I accepted the offer less successful Vinohrady Theatre , which I am still a member .
First television and film role came at the beginning of the 70th years , among the best-known definitely one film Lovers in the Year One (1973 ) Medical Shows Hospital in the City (1977 ) , a tale with devils are not fun (1984 ) , or českotelevizní Cops and Robbers ( 1997). My voice sounds from several song CD , you can hear my voice-overs (Robin Williams, Paul Eddington , Willy Fog ) and also on the radio.
